It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
There is a good reason that South Tyrol is famous for its beautiful, traditional Christmas markets. From Monticolo, you can easily reach some of them in no time. The closest, bigger Christmas markets are those in Bozen and Meran. Both are only a few minutes by car away and can also be easily reached by public transportation (for free with our guest card). There, you can stroll among the festively decorated market stalls, shop for souvenirs or sip a warming winter drink. With a little luck, a few snowflakes may start to fall, making the Christmas atmosphere even more magical.
But it is not only the larger towns and cities that radiate a special charm during the festive season. Many smaller towns and villages also host Christmas events that are well worth a visit. For example, head to nearby St. Pauls, where countless beautifully crafted nativity scenes are displayed throughout the village streets and illuminated in the evening. Or visit a charming smaller Christmas market in the Sarntal Valley or on the Ritten Plateau to fully embrace the festive spirit.
